Hardly, I think it was a colony of Britain prior WW2. Britain forfeited it to give it to the Jews as a home for them.
Oddly left off is that fact that many Jews lived in that area anyways and long before Israel became a nation.
Also missing is the fact that the palestinians who fled, were rejected by the surrounding muslim nations… for the precise reason of creating the problems that exist today.

I would suggest you not limit your research to just Israel but to the entire region.
Most countries in the region were not countries 100 years ago. They were parts of an empire. In Israel’s case, it was first part of the Ottoman Empire. After the Ottoman Empire crumbled, the British Empire took over.
It should be noted that most of the British Empire’s territorial assets eventually became their own counties and not just in the Middle East.

Yes, Israel/Palestine became the Jewish homeland under the British Empire. The entire Mideast was being divided up by imperialistic Britain and France after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. Jewish Americans /American support and fund-raising kept the state afloat after the British pulled out . The initial situation was created by British foreign policy. I have attached some overviews that mention the imperialist forces that basically shaped the creation of Israel.
