Well, what is religious conservatism?
A belief that somehow, things were better in the “good old days” and that in some way, we must return to them. Mainly, it is rooted in fear of the present world that is somehow viewed as evil and unclean compared to some ideal presupposed to have once existed.
It’s not surprising that proponents of such a mindset are not interested in objective truth. They are only interested in good and evil. Good is anything that fits withing their view of an utopia that never was, and that they want to return to and evil is everything else.
Try to think of a plausible scenario of how the different sexes could evolve, and you could not believe in evolution.
Something that complex would take millions of mutations. But the sex organs are of no use until they are fully functioning. That goes against natural selection because they have no use until they work. And that’s not the only problem. The instinct to use them would have to evolve. And then a system for combining the DNA from the “male” and “female” would have to evolve. And where are the remnants of the self-replicating system in things that now produce offspring through male and female members?
Trying to explain highly complex systems and functions from an evolutionary standpoint simply doesn’t work. They require way too many mutations, but then don’t explain why those mutations are kept in the gene pool until they are fully functioning.
Evolutionist admit that this is a huge problem. They can say why the sexes might have evolved, but don’t give an answer as to how something that complex can evolve for so long while giving no advantage until it’s fully functioning.
I was just talking about this with my dad a couple of hours ago.
That’s a lie! They do research the subject! Just in a religious matter, which I find biast and unethical. There’s proof of both Adam and Eve (because, somehow, every human being on earth is genetically related in some matter, though VERY far apart), but there’s more proof of evolution. Though, no biast would ever think about it because “the bible says so”. The mentality of people…
“Religionists” put their hope and faith in an almighty creator, if they are wrong they wind up like everone else, part of the dust with no living soul. If a creationist put their hope and faith in the earth or other, and they are wrong, the ame result happens when they die.
but if religionists are right they are eternally saved in glory forever, if the creationist is right there is no change in their outcome. logic says creation is the only possible hope.
I’ll tell you what, pea brain. You take your argument up with Dr. Anthony Flew. Do you know Dr. Flew? He was once a world renown atheist and foremost evolutionary scientist. He used to debate Christians about evolution.
Then as science continued to advance and Dr. Flew saw more and more evidence, it led him to conclude that there must be a God. On a time a man who had spent his entire adult professional life studying evolution recanted and said, “There is a God.”
He flushed the THEORY down the drain!
It is just a theory but it does sadden me when people don’t try to educate themselves on it. I am educated on the Christian religion and I know what I’m talking about when I refute it.
It doesn’t make any sense to speak out on something you don’t understand. Plenty of people do it though.
Here’s a better question.
Why don’t evolutionists just read the Bible and find out that it is more than just a fabricated history book?
I can explain every major aspect of both evolution and creation to anyone. Can you? When you can do that it is EASY to see that they are both based in faith. But if you can believe in evolution, you have WAY more faith than I do. All of this from Nothing but a few minerals?!?!?
No way
What is there to read?? It is a flat out farce, proven at every turn. The Bible is truth. True, pure science validates it all the time. And why not, all the “laws ” which govern this great universe are written in The Bible, before man had a clue. Where do you think all the “great” minds found the ideas to puzzle out?
I know of many who have done research and seen the facts and continue to deny it.
If someone believes something vehemently, no research would change that. It would basically be a waste of their time.
Doesn’t matter if they believe in evolution or not, anyway.
You forgot to state your proof. Oh yeah, there isn’t any.God created man, from man He made woman. The Earth was created in 6 days. God came to Earth in the form of a man (Jesus) and died on the Cross to pay for everybodys (including yours) sins. On the third day, He rose from the grave, and one day He will return. When He came the first time, it was as a Servant and a Sacrifice. When He comes back, it will be as a King and a Judge. What are you going to do then? Enough said.
I don’t understand why many Christians hate science, and refuse to believe that it was science that started us, and THAT GOD USED SCIENCE I also think that many atheists don’t believe in a Deity because they think it can all be explained by science, but I believe both. I’m a Christian but I think that God used science for our creation
Mainly because those that claim that evolution is “just a theory” have no idea what a scientific theory is.
“Evolution is a ‘theory’, just like gravity. If you don’t like it, go jump off a bridge.”
Evolution is a theory, it’s part of it’s definition. It’s not a law. There may be evidence but that doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily true. And there are many flaws to evolution.
Because they don’t want to find the correct answer, they want the wrong answer they already have to be correct. So they don’t want to find out the truth, they want to find ways to obscure it.
I don’t believe in God, and I’m not 100% sold on evolution, but I am 100% sure god doesn’t exist.
When confronted with facts..the “faithful” will run and hide or spew scripture and use circular logic. It’s sad really.
because God created the world in six days, resting on the seventh

Thinking is hard. Research is hard. Studying is hard. Learning is hard.
Much easier to say “it’s magic!” and surrender your intellect to ignorance.

Uh, most “religionists” do understand evolution and accept it as scientific fact, thanks!
Evolution goes against my instincts.
What’s your point? You do realize a person can be religious and understand and accept science, don’t you?
Why should I when I know that MY CREATOR created everything?
well…it IS just a theory, but that’s the stupidest argument against it you can make
it *is* just a theory. as is creationism. *shrugs*
